Nana Noodle House has been serving the Kearny, Harrison, and Newark community for over 17 years, offering authentic Chinese comfort food made with care. Our menu features customer favorites like braised beef noodle soup, pork chop rice, freshly made dumplings, wontons in chili oil, and scallion pancakes.
The Beginning
In 2009, Kevin and Carrie — doctors back in China, dreamers in Kearny — opened a little restaurant called Lucky Foo. Kevin pulled noodles in the kitchen, Carrie welcomed every guest like family. The shop was small, but it was always filled with steam, laughter, and the taste of home. Lucky Foo quickly became a neighborhood treasure.
The Regular
In 2014, Cathy moved to Kearny after graduating from the University of Florida. Long commutes to New York made her days exhausting, but Lucky Foo became her refuge. A bowl of noodles and Carrie’s warm smile made everything better. Even after moving into the city, Cathy kept coming back — because Lucky Foo wasn’t just food, it was family.
The Next Chapter
By 2024, Kevin and Carrie were ready to retire. Cathy couldn’t imagine her favorite place disappearing, so she stepped in. With her partner and manager — affectionately nicknamed Nana — she rebranded the restaurant as Nana Noodle House. The name carries Nana’s homelike warmth and honors Carrie’s tradition of treating every customer like family.
Today
From 2009 to today, one promise has never changed:
